Letterboxing

My friends Liz, Annie, and Katie introduced me to LETTERBOXING. It is a treasure hunt with stamps set up for kids. (I guess it is for big kids too since I enjoyed it). We went and stamped Brad’s notebook a couple of times this weekend. Brad loves it. We read him the directions and he has been pretty good at finding the boxes. He has shown anyone and everyone his stamp book that is patient enough to indulge him. It is a really fun pastime. We found one at Murray Park and Gardner Village. While my friend Kristin and I were at Gardner Village, we took the kids to the petting zoo. It kind of freaked me out. The baby goats were nibbling on my calves, the lama made me feel nervous, the donkey was braying so loud, and the geese were pretty mad we were so close to her eggs. Brad seems oblivious to it all so I guess it was worth it. I just don't think I would do it again.

Hooray. I'm glad you caught the leterboxing spirit. I think I'm going to have a stamp made for our family with our last name and city. maybe all of our names on it. I need to think about it some more but I think it's be great.
I'm not a fan of petting zoo's at all. You're a nice mom.

YEAH! I'm glad you like it! I know you camp a lot...there are lots around Utah! As for the petting zoo...I'm not such a fan either.

I will have to try the letterboxing it sounds really fun, and a good way to spend some summer hours outdoors. Funny you should all feel that way about the petting zoo, we went last year and I think we had our feel of animals for a long time, probably forever.

So I spoke to Shane and "Awesome" about letterboxing and they seem pretty interested in starting. So when we get all squared away we should plan an activity with Brad and Austin. By the way, yes the cabbage patch area is for sissys. :) Also that is officially going to be Shane's blog. I'll let you know when we have a "family" one up and running. Love ya Lots!
