This could be an add for FEED THE CHILDREN.

Brad LOVES to dance. He will dance until he knows he is being video recorded. I had to hide it from him. It didn't last very long, but I did get a few seconds on video. (And yes I do feed this child!!!)

This was my favorite song Brad sang for his graduation program.

I would hate to be in the truck he was driving.

Pomp and Circumstance

Wednesday was Brad’s preschool graduation. It was so cute. They sang a bunch of songs and then got their little diplomas.

To celebrate we took him to Clark Planetarium. It was pretty cool. I just remember the old Hansen Planetarium. I haven’t been to the new one. Brad’s favorite thing was the “axetronuts”. He liked their funky suits.

After the Planetarium we took him to the fountain at the gateway. I still get all emotional when I hear the Olympic song. Randy makes fun of me.

We rode the trax home and got held up for a while when President Bush’s motorcade came through Salt Lake. I am sure you can envision sitting on a stopped train for 20 minutes with a 4 year old and a baby… Can you imagine having that job? How do they coordinate stopping all traffic for the President of the United States? That would be exhausting.

I am going to jail...

So this is my confessional for stealing. I went to Park City today to spend some birthday money and I was caught shoplifting again. Okay not really…. But I did find some extraordinarily, amazing deals. I felt like a criminal when I left the cash registers.
These super adorable onsies were 70% off at Carters. Who can pass that up???
The Callaway golf store was having a Memorial Day sale and I got these really nice polo shirts for Randy. They were only $10 a piece. Normally to have the Callaway logo stitched on the front costs an extra $50. Luckily we got the logo for free this time.
I usually don’t shop at Aeropostale because it hurts my wallet. Plus formula and diapers usually trump my desire for a fashionable wardrobe. But… there were sale banners in the window. The temptation was too irresistible. I had to go in. What a fabulous decision. I walked out only spending $20 on 3 shirts a pair of shoes and some really cute earrings.

And last but not least my favorite store in all of Outlet Shopping adventures is the Children’s Place. All of these clothes were $2 a piece. Can you believe it? I was like a vulture in that store. I had to refrain from buying that same cute sweater in purple and yellow as well. It was hard to settle with just 3 of the same shirt. And the hats….$0.99….yes….almost free today.
Disclaimer: I am not getting paid to advertise for the Tanger Outlet mall. I just have a burning desire to share my exhilaration... It feels good. Usually when I go shopping I have the buyer’s remorse sinking gut feeling. But today I think I did pretty well.

Happy Memorial Day!

What a great weekend. We usually go camping for Memorial Day weekend, but the weather had something else in mind for us. We ended up staying home and played around the city. Last night Steve, Kari, Tim and Kamie came over for Sunday dinner. After dinner we took a walk over to our bishop’s house. He owns a couple of horses. We fed them some apples and hay. We like to go there on Sunday evenings. Brad wanted his Aunts and Uncles to see the horses.

Today Randy’s mom was so thoughtful and took our kids for a couple of hours so we could go on a much needed date. It was a lot of fun. We went to TGI Fridays and saw Indiana Jones. Since I have been married I have not been in town for Memorial Day, so after we picked up the kids I decided to visit my Grandpa David Gailey and My Grandma Phyllis Gailey’s Grave. They are buried in Syracuse. It was really nice to pay tribute to my Grandparents.

Since we drove to Syracuse we went to our good friend’s house and had a BBQ. Stacey and Simi are such good hosts. The food was really good. First they had to clean out their BBQ from the birds abode. (To see the story go HERE) We had to light a big bonfire. Stacey marinated the best chicken. After dinner we jumped on their trampoline. It was pretty amusing to see a bunch of grown adults play crack the egg.

It was such a nice weekend off from life!!!! Now back to work.

You might be a redneck.

Have any of you ever seen Jeff Foxworthy? He does this really funny red neck routine... He is hilarious. He tells these highly amusing “you might be a red-neck” jokes.
If you have never heard this routine, go here.
Well I have my own…..
If you have ever attended an Arena Football League game…you might be a red neck. Seriously…..
Randy got tickets for us to go see the Utah Blaze play at the ESA. I am not kidding when I say I have never seen anything like it.
I have been to several Jazz games and seen some pretty fanatical fans…But I think the Blaze fans slaughter the enthusiasm of the Jazz fans. I mean… it was the biggest white trash, motorcycle riding, beer belly, missing tooth (or teeth) Blaze passion mania.
Don’t get me wrong I had an absolute riot. I got to act like a total fool and not a single person batted an eye at me. It was insane. The fans can sit right next to the floor pads and just get clobbered by the players. One lady got hit pretty hard and was taken out of the arena on a stretcher. I am surprised they don’t make people sign a waiver for bodily injury when they buy a ticket. (No worries we were on the 25th row… we were marginally safe.) Kind of football meets hockey.
It was a really fun date. I highly recommend it…That is, if you want a chance to let your hair down and act like a hootin’ hollerin’ idiot and still totally fit in. We have tickets again in June and I can’t wait.

A very Merry Un-Birthday to You!!!

Claire had her Un-Birthday yesterday. I can’t believe she is 6 months old. I feel like time has passes so rapidly, I hardly had time to take it all in. I also can’t believe how much she has changed. One day I think she looks just like me and the next she looks like a perfect duplicate of Randy. She has such a cheerful personality and I am so delighted she is such a significant part of our family. I don’t remember life without her. Brad adores her as well. Claire is obsessed with her brother. No one can make her smile like Brad can.

Birth...
1 month...
2 months...
3 months...
4 months...
5 months...
6 months....
Happy Un- Birthday Claire we love you.

I think I need to call Utah disaster to clean up this flood...

Brad wanted to clean up his crumbs after his lunch. He was so proud of the job he did. I will be sad the day that he no longer wants to help out around the house.

I used to tell my mom that she only had us so we could do her housework. Sounds like a pretty good plan to me. I am going to take advantage of it as long as I can.

MIA

Claire has officially gone mobile.

I distinctly remember situating Claire on a blanket in the living room so I could get some dishes done. Not one minute later she was missing. She had rolled to the tile by the front door. I think she was trying to escape.

I thought sneaking out of the house didn’t start until pre-teen!!!! We are in trouble. Time to baby proof the house.

Now I know my ABC's

Hooray for Brad. He finally learned his last letter today in pre-school. I am so proud of all that he has accomplished. Here is his final masterpiece. He painted the stripes himself.

Brad was also thoughtful enough to distinguish the Zebra’s sex. He said “Mom, I painted him a moustache because he is a dude.”

He is going to miss pre-school this summer. And his wonderful pre-school teacher.

Can you do me a little favor??

My sweet friend Camille had her little Angel today. It has been a scary road for her. It will continue to be a scary future for him. Please do me a favor and say a little prayer for the both of them.
To read their story go here and here.
My heart and thoughts are with you Camille and Alex.

Cedar and St. George

Where to begin….

THE GOLF…
Randy, Matt, Tim, Steven and Gene went to some posh golf courses. The kind where you have to tip the golf cart boys for washing your clubs, and the bathroom attendant for drying your hands. They even had GPS in the carts. (I guess you can get lost on the course) They played 54 holes in three days. Whew…they need a vacation from their vacation. Don’t you just feel sorry for them???

THE SCENERY...
Kari took us to the Parowan Gap. We climbed up some cool rocks and looked at some cool hieroglyphics. We asked Brad what he thought they were and he said X-Rays. I thought it was quite an intellectual response. I am always amazed at the landscape difference between Salt Lake and Southern Utah. I also love that someone planted palm trees in St. George. It makes you feel like you are out of state and on a real vacation.

THE FOOD…
Shirley made us some really good grub. Look at all of this good stuff. We stuffed our faces the whole time. Every meal was to die for.

Homemade wheat waffles with fresh strawberries.
Mango Salsa.
Here is the pumpkin roll I was raving about!!!
Gene's famous omelet
THE RECREATION…
The girls played a lot while the boys were gone. We went to a pool in St. George. (Sorry no pics in the pool. I am letting you use your imagination. Hopefully I look better in your vision of me in a bathing suit than in real life.) We visited a few parks, and packed a lunch and had a picnic. For dinner Friday night we all went to the Pizza Factory in St. George. They have those famous bread sticks. Again we stuffed ourselves.

THE COMPANY…
We really had a great time with each other. Thank you to Shirley and Gene for housing us for the weekend. They were great hosts and so fun to be around. Also a special thanks to Matt for sleeping in the same bed with our four year old. We had some great laughs, good fun and made some fantastic memories. Kamie and Kari even had a good cry while we watched a chick flick. We can’t wait until next year. And Steven…why is there a carrot in your nose? You are so 5 years old. You must be my baby brother.
