Diamond X Ranch

For the Fourth of July weekend we headed to Bear Lake. On the way through Wyoming we stopped and visited a couple of our friends. We stayed the night at the Allred’s. We used to live next to them in our old condos. Their new house is darling and they were great hosts for the night.
The next day we went to the Heaps house. They used to live next door to us. They moved to her parents Ranch in Evanston, WY. They Barbequed lunch for us and took us horseback riding. The horses were so much fun. I have never been horseback riding before. I showed up in capris and flip flops. Morgan had to find me a pair of cowboy boots. Let me tell you…Capris and boots look SOOOOO good together. I looked like such a dork.
They took us to see the Proffit property. It was beautiful. I love the country. We were going to try and cross the river... but since they had some rookie riders we had to turn the horses around.
Poor Morgan... at one point he had all of the kids on his horse. I didn't feel confident enough to keep myself on the horse, let alone hold a child. By the end of the ride I took Claire on my horse. It was fun to hear her giggle and try to grab the horse's hair.
Brad got to ride his own horse led by Tiko of course. His horse got a little jumpy while walking through a stream and bounced Brad off his saddle right to the ground. It was in slow motion. Brad got right back on the horse. I was surprised it didn’t freak him out.
It was good to see some old friends and catch up.
Just as a little plug for the Heaps. If you are interested in going to a Ranch check out
Diamond X Ranch
It is family owned and on some of the most beautiful property I have ever seen. They invited us to come and see the cattle branding. I can't wait.

WOW, you guys have been so busy, the trek sounds like such a neat experience, love all the pictures. I bet the real pioneers would have loved to have you (a RN) with them for all of their medical drama. See you soon.
