I love a Birthday Party
Richmond City celebrated it's 150th birthday today. To celebrate city council invited all of the residents to a barbecue dinner. A local farmer donated corn from his crop and I am sure someone in Richmond donated their steer. It is amazing that Richmond can feed the entire city. I am really liking this small town stuff.
The city rented big blow up bouncers and slides. Claire was a maniac. I couldn't get her off of it. She LOVED it. We came home to find a big hole in her pants. Good thing she had her diaper as extra padding.

August came and went so fast....
Our little family is tuckered out of summer... we can't wait for a little sweatshirt weather.
August was such a busy month for us. I have barely had time to breathe let alone blog. However I did find time to enjoy looking at your summer during a little down time at work. I can't believe summer is coming to a close.
We enjoyed many visits from family and friends this month. Our weekends were packed with fantastic company.
Our good friends the Heaps came to visit us from Wyoming. Brad loved seeing his friend Landon.
We tried to have a Wildwood condo reunion this summer but we just could not get it together with everyone's busy schedule. The only ones who came were us and the Cazeau's. We got dinner and took the kids to the park. Brad loves seeing his old friends.
We also had my whole family up for a BBQ. My grandma came up to see the house with my parents. Which for me was a HUGE deal since she has so much on her plate with my grandpa and her own health. She walked around my house and gave me all of her approval. He opinion means the world to me so I am glad she approved.
Randy's little brother Lance and his wife Kendra spend a weekend with us. We ate great food and went to the Rodeo. My camera battery died so I stole this from Kendra's blog. The kids loved the horses and bull riding. Even Claire got a kick out of it. We promised Brad that we would sign him up for the mutton busting relay next year. He was bummed he could not run out there and ride a sheep. I think he might have won if given the chance.
Tim and Kamie came and spent a night with us too. It was fun to have them over and I always get the supper blues when they leave. I can't wait until Kamie is out of school and buys a house just down the street from me.
Randy has been busy with projects around the house. We got our back patio poured. I love having at least a slab of cement now to BBQ. Hopefully we can get things together enough to put some sprinklers in the back yard before the snow flies. Money doesn't go very far when it comes to house projects. It is hard to wait for the funds to get what I want.
Randy also built me a mailbox out of brick. Our neighbor used to work as a mason and came and coached Randy. It looks great!!!
Our little country house is coming along.
One of the highlights of August was Randy's last brother to get married. We spent the weekend in SLC for all the festivities. Their wedding turned out beautiful and she was a stunning bride. Claire loved the dress that was made for her. She would twirl around and say "tute, tute, tute" (cute, cute, cute)
They wanted to go to Lake Powell for their Honeymoon so for their wedding gift we rented a boat for them. Instead of having them haul the boat back to SLC, we met them in Powell at the end of their trip and stayed on the lake for the weekend. (I will blog about that trip later. It deserves it's very own post)
Brad just started kindergarten. He loves it. I can't believe I have a kid in school. I am proud of him and know he will be great. Claire is sad when he goes. The first time Brad was dropped off she cried and called his name. She forgot about it quickly when she realized she had her dad to herself for a few hours.
Work has been really busy for me. I have put in a lot of overtime. The lord has really blessed us. Randy is still endlessly looking for a job. He does great with the kids. He has the hang of the house, laundry, and managing 2 busy kiddos. He has even ventured into some crock pot cooking. I miss being with them at home but I know that they are in good hands. I know both of our hard work is going to pay off. We just need to be patient and leave it in the Lord's hands.
