Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake with the Hodges (Kamie’s family)for the 4th of July. The weather was a bit chillier than in years past so we spent most of the time at the cabin and not in the water. Good thing Aunt Kamie had a few tricks up her sleeve. She sent the kids on several treasure hunts. She even drew up a pirate map of the cabin. Each time the kids found the hidden treasure Kamie would divvy up the pirate booty. Aunt Kamie is the best. My kids are still talking about the pirate treasure.

On Saturday there was a Fourth of July Golf Tournament. Randy has played for several years in a row. He gets so close to winning money. They split the winnings weird. He played really well. He won a little bit of money for being closest to the pin so he bought himself a new golf hat. Matt and Tori won some money too for being in the WORST scoring bracket. Go figure. Oh well. Next year he should play on Matts team then maybe he will win some REAL money.

Hanging out was fun. Kamie’s parents just finished their wrap around deck so there was lots of space to lounge outside. Sara just had a new baby so all the girls and even the boys ogled over holding new little Eli.

We did manage to make it to the beach for one afternoon when the sun decided to warm the air a bit. It was still too cold to swim but the kids enjoyed playing in the sand.

I love Bear Lake. Randy and I have always wanted a cabin there. One day!!!! (It's still fun to daydream about it even if it is a long way down the road.)
