While we were in Ogden a micro burst reeked havoc on our little city of Richmond. As we were driving home we got several phone calls from our neighbors informing us that our trampoline had flipped up in the air smashed the fence in the back then landed in the neighbors yard kitty-corner to us.
This is what we saw when we got home. Goodbye trampoline....
Our neighbors trampoline landed on the roof of another neighbor...
My garden got hit pretty hard. Half of the corn got knocked over. To be honest I was more upset about the corn than the tramp.
The wind went though my neighbors window and pulled the hinges right off their bedroom door.
It ripped our neighbors garage door apart.
A smashed dog kennel.
Luckily our chairs got caught in our rocks or I am sure they would be dispensed throughout the neighborhood.
Trees were down everywhere. We jumped on the golf cart to see if anyone needed any help and the streets were lined with branches and trees.
The power was out for a couple of hours.
Luckily no one was injured or hurt. I was impressed that everyone pitched in right away to help get the mess cleaned up in a hurry. We had a group of about ten people helping us get our trampoline taken care of.
I feel so blessed that we were not home when it happened. It came on really fast with no warning during dinner time. I usually send the kids outside on the tramp while I am cooking. They could have really been hurt.

So the last time this happened we weren't home and also felt so blessed as our neighbors trees fell on the power lines right were our kids play outside. We were home this time and it was crazy how fast it came and went. I'm so sorry to hear about your corn and your tramp, but I'm so so glad that you guys are ok. I was so impressed both times at how great people were to help. It reminds me that people really are beautiful in this world.
Oh my goodness!! Glad for the most part everything is ok!!
Wow Jen, I'm glad you guys weren't home as well. This is one time you can say "Family Home Evening" is truly a blessing. Isn't it interesting when things like this happen? It's not the material things you are as concerned with, but your loved ones and the things you work hard for; like your garden. Thanks for the pictures.
Sorry Jen, I don't know how to sign the stupid comments. Mine is the one above. Love Mom
GEEZ! That is nuts. We used to see stuff like that all the time in Evanston, but I haven't seen it here. Glad all is well.
That's awesome that everyone helped those who needed it, but totally crazy reason that made it happen!
That is crazy! I questioned moving to Richmond for about 30 seconds when Derek told me about this post. But I still want to end up there. The last time I remember anything like that happening was when I was in Elementary school! Glad everyone is okay!
Oh my goodness!! That's some crazy wind! I too am sad about your garden. :( But am super glad your kids weren't home on that trampoline at the time.
I can't believe that happened. I didn't hear anything about it. No wind at my house, that is totally crazy. I am sorry about your tramp and corn.
I'm glad you were all ok. Oh, you poor garden...which by the way is amazing.
Holy crap! Those pictures are insane. That is crazy. Glad you are all safe.
Goodness, that was scary. Thankfully you are all ok:)
CraZy!!! I can't believe all that damage, the garage door and the inside bedroom door is just insane to think the wind did that. I would be sad about the garden too, glad you weren't home and didn't get too much property damage.
