Swimming Lessons

Brad started his first swimming lesson yesterday. He got at least a gallon if not more water up his nose. It must not have bothered him too much, because he can’t wait to go to his next lesson. He goes with his friend Aubrey. They are in the same primary class. She is my little mole. She will tell me when Brad in naughty in primary. It is great. She will tell her mom… “I was good and listened in primary today but Bradley and Daniel were not”. She is a sweetheart.
This is Brad dunking all the way under the water. He would plug his nose until he went down and then he would let go. Hope he catches on to the whole concept of keeping it plugged under the water.
They also learned the chicken dance. I must have missed that swimming stroke at Dear old Midvale Middle.

Our middle school had a pool so for one quarter we had to take swimming in lieu of gym class. I hated it. They gave us 2 minutes to get ready...you could not even shower. I always had it first or second period so I went the rest of the day with wet nasty chlorine hair. Our instructor was from Pluto I think. She was so weird. She never got in the pool. She would lie across the diving board to demonstrate different strokes. We were all so tempted to push her off the board and into the water. I can’t believe that no one actually did it.

this brings back so many memories of swimming lessons. I use to love to swim until I actually cared what I looked like in school then it was a whole different story.

That's so funny because as I was reading this and you mentioned Midvale Middle, I instantly thought of that weirdo with the super long black braid pony tail with fluffy bangs on top, laying across the diving board and everyone wishing they had the guts to push her in. You wrote exactly what I was thinking.
Congrats to Brad. We start in a couple of weeks. All 3 girls. Should be interesting.

Cute pictures, brad seems so tall. Well in response to you not being able to see pics. I'm not good at downloading slideshows. I have my wedding album on my blog so you can at least see pictures.

Swimming lesson...a sure sign that summer is finally here. Such a great time when they learn all the techniques and are finally "safe" in the water.

Okay Jenny I am doing my best to not burst into laughter, because Bob is asleep. But that is so true I remember her the same way. It's amazing any of us learned to swim. I wonder what came of her???

Is it too late for Rhonda to sign up? She is mortified at the thought of water deeper than 2". Also it's not hard to picture Steve and Kari getting kicked out of the pool for hugging.(Is that what they are calling it). I had to endure sitting behind them in church for far too long. They should have been kicked out of Sacrament Meeting more than once. Youth is wasted on the young.
