I hosted a big ol' sleepover with my family Friday night. We used to do it all the time with my cousins. My mom would do it at her house and we would all sleep on the grass outside. I have the best memories of water fights, fireworks, and all night talking and games. My party was on a much smaller scale than my moms old party. We just don't have the numbers my Grandma did. To help with numbers I invited my Aunt Becky's family. It just would not have been a party without her and her family.
I thought I would try it out. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate on Friday night. There were some pretty heavy rain clouds looming over the house. We decided to all sleep inside. The kid all squashed into Brad's room. I was surprised how well they slept. I only had to go in and threaten them once. The rest of us spread out all over the house. I don't have a ton of pictures because I was on full time crowd control. But trust me the kids had a riot.
After the kids went to bed the adults sat around the fire pit and chatted. Don't have pictures of that either. I was busy relaxing.
The next morning we tie dyed shirts. They turned out pretty good. However we didn't have much time so we threw them all in the washer together. Bad idea they all got ruined. The ended up looking like old grey T-shirts with a hint of tie dye in the distant background.
The rest of the day was spent eating, lounging, playing in the yard, video games, walmart visits (Three times I think), and a trip to Pepperidge Farm.
Kirsten and Bean(Kennedy)
Brad, Claire and Whitters (Whitnee)
Uncle Richard (doesn't he look so peaceful??... Tee Hee Hee)
Grandpa Moose
Bubba Jacob(...seriously my nephew is a Reimann size TANK)
Lisa holding Bubba. Don't her arms look tired??
Eric and Aaron the gamers
Saturday night we went to Wolf Mountain to see John Schmidt in concert. Randy's bank sponsored the concert. Brad got really into the music. He loved it. He was giggling the whole time. Matt and Tori joined us along with Ryan and Tiffiny Reimann, and the Heaps.
This happened about 30 seconds of driving after the concert. I think they had a fun weekend. We will have to do it again.

Busy Busy Busy! I am glad that you are making the most of your summer!
Jenny, thank you for such a fun evening. I appreciate the evening because I KNOW how hard it is to entertain as well as be a good hostess. You were very successful. We loved every minute and can hardly wait to do it again. Love ya
the kids don't look tired at all!!! looks like a lot of fun. i just love your family:)
How fun! I wouldn't even dare to host a sleep over for any group of cousins...yet!!! You are a brave soul, but it does look like some serious fun and what a great tradition to build awesome memories.
We love Jon Schmidt! I bet he was amazing to see in concert.
You are a brave woman! We did tye-die shirts for girls camp this year and they turned out pretty great. It's all I've been wearing all summer. It was a little tricky though.
I'm pretty sure you should host a Granquist family sleepover. We'd have such fun!
Love all the pictures Jenny. Your family is so cute.
