Summer seems to be running away faster than we can catch it. I can't believe school starts in a few short weeks. We have been trying to cram as much as we can into each day.
Randy and I took the kids to the Aquatic Center today to try and wear them out. I think Randy and I were the only ones who were worn out. The kids could have stayed all night.
In between the craziness we have been trying to do some daily brain work. Claire is picking up on things so fast. She is such a smart little girl. She loves to learn. She begs me to read and sing to her. She is growing up so fast.
Brad does a little bit of homework too. He takes a little more bribing and encouragement. He would rather be outside ALL day. I am such a mean mom to make him practice handwriting. Maybe one day he will thank me. The good news is he still loves school and keeps asking me when he gets to go to first grade and eat school lunch.
We also started Brad in piano lessons this summer. He is catching on fast and get excited when he learns a new song. I hope he sticks with it. If he does I think he will be really good.

I agree! I wish it could last just a little longer!! Swimming looks like it was fun!
I didn't know brad was doing lessons.. I wish I would have when I was younger. I tried to teach myself... but didn't get very far.
Hey I want to talk to you about this weekend, I'll try to call you or text you tomorrow about it.. I thought about coming up thursday night or Friday morning.. My mom said you left me a message, but I didn't have one. I'll try to call you and talk to you about it or something! Can't wait to come visit!
Tell him to stick with the piano. I wish I would have! It may seem like a pain at times but in the long run it is TOTALLY worth it.
Also .....I agree with parent getting more warn out then the kids. After Lagoon the other day Derek and I were fighting to keep our eyes open. I fell asleep at 7:00 for an hour, put the girls to bed at 8 and was back in bed by 9!
Why is it that summer seems so short and winter seems so long!?
Hey-- I know that house! That's Trav's Aunt's home. Who is his teacher? Kelsie or Anarie?
Believe me - your kids' teachers will love you for keeping up on stuff during the summer (not to mention your kids will really benefit from it)! I wish every mom was so "mean!"
